          296 Conquistador

          296 Conquistador

Hernan Cortés brought a group of soldiers with him from the Caribbean to the New World.  Cortés ordered his men to unload all the supplies off the ship.  One the ship was emptied of all supplies and cargo, Cortés commanded the ship's captain to burn the ship.

Astonished, a veteran soldier asked Cortés wasn't this merely a scouting expedition?. Cortés made his intentions known to everyone and replied that he intended to conquer this land and its inhabitants.  Another soldier respectfully asked Cortés won't they need their ship in case the attempted conquest fails and they need to escape back to Spain?

Cortés, without hesitation, simply replied that they will conquer this land and its inhabitants or die trying.

Friend, do you have this type of resolve when it comes to sharing the Gospel message?
